    For all the payment examples you gave you actually don't need a credit card. Only car rentals can be picky, but even there you can find many companies that accept debit cards or a cash deposit.

    You say "gym" is the object in "I walked to the gym." I don't know; I've never walked a gym before, and I don't think anyone has. This sentence is more of a Subject-Verb-Prepositional Phrase (SV-PP) structure than a Subject-Verb-Object (SVO) structure.

    The Bigotry in Holland Shouldn't Be Surprising, those are they Who went to Southern Africa and Created Apartheid. Besides it was Still very Amusing to See them in SA refer to themselves as "African!" whilst on my travels. 🤭 As for the High Taxes, perhaps the Dutch have Zero Choice in Supporting and Maintain their Unemployed royals!

    About the g: it is not pronounced in the throat, but at the end of the palatum, just before the uvula. So it has nothing to do with spitting. Furthermore: there is much variation in how Dutch and Belgian people produce the g. The soft one in the southern half of the Dutch speaking area is perfect. But in the northern half there is much variation too, the hardest sounding one is only the end of a continuum. So listen carefully and pick out a relative easy one and practice that one.

  • @weiareinboud6990
    @weiareinboud6990 Місяць тому

    Pronunciation is difficult in any language. English is much harder to pronounce for Dutchies than the reverse. The 'g' is easy for every speaker of Spanish or Arab, for example. But yes, not for speakers of English. Spelling of Dutch is a hundred times easier than the spelling of English. You'll indeed have to learn which words are 'de' and which 'het', but that is the case with many languages. Here English is very easy!

    I believe the retirement crisis will get even worse. Many struggle to save due to low wages, rising prices, and exorbitant rents. With homeownership becoming unattainable for middle-class Americans, they may not have a home to rely on for retirement either.

      Consider buying stocks when the economy is not doing well, like during a recession. It could be a chance to buy them at a lower price and sell later when prices go up. Just keep in mind, this isn't financial advice, but sometimes it's better than keeping a lot of cash.

      Accurate asset allocation is crucial. Some use hedging or defensive assets in their portfolio for market downturns. Seeking financial advice is vital. This approach has kept me financially secure for over five years, with a return on investment of nearly $1 million.

    I currently live in the US & have been giving some serious thought to moving to The Netherlands. I make around 80K a year & it's just good enough to take care of myself. I want to have kids & can see that I will not be able to afford it due to the cost of living where I am. I want to live in the Netherlands for a while & if I don't like it, come back or try another place. I have lived most of my life trying to outrun inflation & make more money & now I'm tired & just want to live a simple life in a community of folks that is a different pace.

    There's no voice more powerful than our personal critic. It has our best interest at heart, even though we sometimes misinterpret its meaning and place a far too big responsibility or burden on our shoulders. Acknowledging this and understanding there needn't be any self-imposed conditions for happiness is the true path to growth.

    Lady, you have that part about salary and taxation wrong. It's a progressive tax system in the Netherlands. You do not get taxed 50% in you earn a ton more. You get taxed the regular 37% until approx €75K of your total annual income, anything above that €75K is taxed at 50%.

    If you are a responsible person, you can use credit cards without producing debt. It's only debt after the payment is due. Cash and credit are great, debit cards are for people who are not creditworthy. Credit reporting bureaus in the U.S. and Canada also have information about the payment of bills. Creditworthiness in the U.S. is based on a history of long term on time payment. Although you can tell them your income as well, they just don't rely on that self report as much.

    Lol honestly, if you think the salaries there are low, come to Portugal. Our minimum wage is 760€ and to rent a house in Lisbon the prices go up 1000 euros. Not even talking about taxes, you're left with a bit more than 600 euros per month. Then check the price of things in the supermarket in Portugal and you will go insane. This video makes no sense. We shouldn't move to the Netherlands, yet you're still there, yeah yeah. It's not about how much you gain per month, it's about how much is left for you to pay the bills and have the least of life quality. What matters is your power to buy things. And other things as health support systems, those things matter. You just wanted to make a video for your channel. Congratulations you did it but the only good information I got from this video was about the exemption of 30% for the first 5 years. Thank you for that. Stay well
